As a company, Calor’s aim is for a better future by introducing a range of sustainability measures such as; harvesting water, reducing the number of kilometers travelled by efficient fleet planning, and upgrading of facilities to continually improve sustainability in Calor. In 2011 the ‘Greening Calor team’ was established and since then significant progress has been made across the organisation to measure, manage, coordinate and communicate actions to comply with their environmental policy. The ‘Greening Calor Team’ has eight members from a variety of departments who are given dedicated time to manage all sustainable related activities for the company.
Mary Geraty, Calor, Communications Manager said “Being shortlisted for this award is an achievement in itself. It is a testament to the hard work everyone here at Calor is putting in to make the company one of the top companies in Ireland when it comes to sustainability and green credentials.”
The international judging panel, which includes experts from Ireland, the UK, Scandinavia, Europe and North America, will now decide on the winners. The prestigious trophies will be handed over at the 2014 Green Awards on Thursday, April 10th at the DoubleTree by Hilton Dublin on the Burlington Road, and Irish Comedian Dermot Whelan, will host the night.
