With a focus on being pioneers, the companies collaborated to develop the project for the first electric truck in the world to transport LPG in bulk, with a tank volume capacity of 9 metres cubed. The tank was built at the EGSA plant in Paulínia and complies with the RTQ6C standard, an INMETRO (governmental agency) requirement related to periodic inspections for road transport trucks. The model chosen for the design and construction of the truck was a 100% electric VW, the first vehicle with the technology fully developed in Latin America.
With a range of up to 250km, the vehicle is initially expected to circulate in Rio de Janeiro, having its starting point at Supergasbras' largest bottling park in Duque de Caxias.
The implementation of VW e-Delivery for transporting bulk LPG in the Supergasbras operation will vastly reduce carbon emissions. With a cleaner energy matrix from a renewable source, the vehicle is a landmark in the LPG sector.
“The use of renewable energy in our bulks shows how much Supergasbras is concerned about the future of our planet.”
